I ordered this on the 14th of june, I chose Amazon because most reviews said they recieved in two days. I orded the 14th, the credit card got charged on the 17th and it still has not even shipped, its discouraging one week later, I got charged for something that still has not shipped but for 4 days I could not even cancel it because it was being prepared for shipment. who knows when it will come, it is upsetting that amazon takes a whole week and still has not shpped the item and I will probabaly have to wait at least a week for the delivery of the item. I am not happy with amazon and I wish I could have cancelled this and bought one from the local store. UGH!!!!!!

I really like the bike but the resistence will not change, did I do something wrong in putting it together? Someone please help. It is very difficulty to ride, but I really get my heart rate up.

Overall, I’d say Marcy Recumbent Mag Cycle appears to have been a pretty good purchase. Two disappointments regarding the assembly process, caused by poor design on the manufacturer’s part. First issue came on one of the first steps in the assembly process and at a very important stage. It was extremely difficult to slide the seat support bar into the bar that comes off from the main part of the cycle (this step should have only taken a matter of seconds). Why? Carelessness on the part of the manufacturer to create two parts that fit into one another properly. Thankfully, I was able to bend the male part inward with pliers to narrow it enough to fit (though it is in very tight now), otherwise this would have rendered the entire item useless. As it stands, now that it is in, the major inconvenience is that I have to use a mallet to back this piece in or out anytime I want to adjust the seat distance, so that people of varying heights can use the cycle. This will be a problem when my wife wants to use the cycle, since I’m about 6 or 7 inches taller than she is. This is the main reason I lowered the rating for this item. The only other issue regarding assembly was that the computer attachment didn’t fit the part it’s supposed to slide onto real well either. I was eventually able to get it on, but had to crack the part a bit in the process in order to get it to fit. Again this is poor quality workmanship on the manufacturer’s part. Other than those two issues, the assembly process was very easy and could be finished rapidly, with just one person (especially if your parts are made to the proper specifications). The bike itself appears to be pretty good and what I was expecting in terms of performance. I injured my knee in basketball a couple of months ago (torn meniscus and destroyed ACL), so I purchased the bike for rehab. Granted I’ve only had it for a day, so I’m not sure how well it will hold up over time, but I believe this bike will help out greatly in me rehabbing my knee. The resistance levels seem appropriate for my rehabilitation, the bike is very quiet and the seat seems pretty comfortable. I would recommend this bike, but just be prepared for some frustration and/or inconveniences if all of the parts they provide don’t fit one another as their supposed to.

I am so pleased with this Marcy recumbent exercise bike. I wasn’t sure I’d use a bike so I bought a well-reviewed but low cost model. Amazon Prime, I love you, too.
My husband is a genius when it comes to building things so I can’t say if it was easy or hard. And the computer is not all that useful but once I realized I can just zero out the calorie counter and go for 200 or 300 or whatever, well, that’s all I really need.
I was also wondering where I’d put this item. I figured it’d have to go out on the deck. But it’s actually VERY elegant and it blends right into my decor in front of my fireplace, even looks good, believe it or not!
The seat is very comfortable, more than some chairs I own. It is so easy to “mount”, nothing scary or skillful required. I love this aspect, makes keeping up with my daily routing easy.
The ride itself is very pleasant, smooth and adjustable in various ways.
I turn on the TV, set myself down, grab some hand weights to add some challenge, and in half an hour I’ve got a good sweat and feel deserving of a big hunk of watermelon. I could even read a book, I am sure.
For this 56 year old, slightly overweight lady, this was a wonderful purchase.

I’ve had this recumbent exercise bike for about 4 months. I’m not good at putting things together, but didn’t have much trouble with this bike. There was one bolt in the seat that just wouldn’t fit, but the seat is solid and stable nonetheless. One of the advantages of this bike is its compact size overall. I needed to fit it into a narrow space in my bedroom, so I did not attach the armrests, and it fits perfectly. I don’t miss the armrests. I am 5’3″ and the bike is comfortable for me adjusted to the shortest setting. It is comfortable even for 45-60 minutes. It is easy to read or watch a movie on my computer while riding (there is a table nearby). The bike is very quiet, so I can talk on the phone if I’m not breathing too hard.
I do not have much confidence in the “computer” that tells me distance, speed, and calories burned. The clock function is accurate; if the bike’s clock says I exercised for 45 minutes, I can verify that by the clock on the wall. The speed and distance seems over-optimistic; I doubt that I was “going” 20 mph or that I rode 13.7 miles in 45 minutes. But even if those figures are not realistic, they are useful benchmarks. My warm-up pace is usually slower than my “cruising” pace; the overall “odometer” shows that I’ve racked up some miles, and helps me create goals around distance as well as time.
Considering that the cost of this bike is comparatively low, it is an extremely good value. I’m conscious that I’ve only put a few hundred miles on it; I hope it holds up over time. Its cost, though, was cheaper than one month of a gym membership in my community. In some ways it’s better than a gym membership, because of the convenience of having it in my home and available at all hours. I actually use it, too–something that’s not always true of a gym membership! Highly recommended.
