Limited in space but still want a great cardiovascular workout? Look no further than the Stamina InStride electronic stepper, which offers a footprint of only 12 inches wide by 16 inches long. As a result, you can use your InStride stepper just about anywhere–in front of the TV, while on the phone, in your sunroom, outside on the patio, or even at work. The InStride stepper is even small enough to toss into a workout bag and take on vacation. The stepper is equipped with two hydraulic cylinders that create a stepping motion similar to those of commercial stair steppers. As you step, you work your calves, thighs, buttocks, and core while boosting your cardio, helping you burn calories and fat. The InStride’s battery-operated multifunction fitness monitor, meanwhile, times each workout and counts the number of steps, so you can stay motivated and on track to reach your fitness goals.

Construction details include a steel frame and wide, textured foot pedals for stability. The InStride, which weighs 20 pounds, carries a one-year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on parts.

About Stair Steppers
Stair steppers continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same benefits as running stairs, but with the “any time, in any weather, without having to leave the comfort and safety of your home” convenience. Stair steppers don’t take up much space, require moderate balance and coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors.

Following on the heels of treadmills and exercise bikes, stair steppers took their first step towards fitness machine success in the early 1980s. Like most exercise equipment, stair steppers have come a long way technically speaking. For example, advanced computers on most new models allow users to track their vitals at a glance. However, the most crucial benefits of stair steppers remain the impacts of cardiovascular and muscle tone fitness. Stair steppers continue to offer an exercise that is less jarring than treadmills, but more intense than elliptical trainers.

AAA Home Furniture Discounts lacks integrity should be avoided at all costs. I have dealt with hundreds of Sellers in the Amazon Marketplace and AAA Home Furniture Discounts is by far the worst. They misrepresented the product and refused to replace damaged parts, then taunted me and said they would win against any claim I might file. They are completely unprofessional and never even sent an order acknowledgment or shipping confirmation. DO NOT REINFORCE THIS BEHAVIOR!

I’ve only had this for about a month and i’m enjoying it so far. the only exericise i get is walking where i have to go. yes, the machine started squeaking within a wee. most of the time i’m listening to music so i dont much hear it. i think the squeaking is still worth. something i also like about this is that you actually feel it working. i’m only doing 215 steps for now but i feel better physically.

I bought this mini-stepper at the end of January, and received it early February, and it broke today, so it lasted about four months. Although it was a reasonably good machine while it worked – except for the squeaking mentioned by many other reviewers – I think four months is poor value for something that’s $50+.

I know that mini-steppers aren’t particularly durable. I bought the Stamina InStride Electronic Stepper to replace a Gaiam mini-stepper that I had bought used, and that one also lasted about four months for me. But I’m 5’5″, weigh 130 pounds, and used the stepper for 30-40 minutes 5 times a week, so I think that’s moderate use that a mini-stepper should be able to take for at least a year. The part that broke is the flexible metal link that fits into the grooved wheel, so it’s not something easily replaceable.

Over the four months, I’ve had to oil various parts of the machine with WB40 about 6 times; otherwise, the squeaking was unbearable. Once oiled, I liked the feel of the stepper.

One other quirk: the counter sometimes worked properly; sometimes didn’t. It always turned on, but sometimes under-counted the time, reps etc.

A sheared shaft or broken cam I suppose. I heard a pop, and now the peddles don’t rise and fall as they should during use. Prior to breaking, it has been quite noisy as well.

Works great for me. I added 5# weights & it’s just what I want for a fun workout to some of my favorite music. Great product.
